I'm getting sick and tired of Amex cutting credit lines and then will not provide the information to even determine what they based their decision on. These pin heads will say it's based on your credit report but won't tell you what within the report is the basis for their decision.
They have these robots who talk to you and say BETWEEN THE BEEPS.."If you have a question you have to talk to Experian."
Of course Experian has no clue what Amex uses so Amex puposely run you in circles AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE OUT THE INFORMATION ON WHAT EXACTLEY THEY USE TO MAKE A DECISION. SOUNDS PRETTY SHADEY WHEN A COMPANY WON'T TELL YOU WHY ACTED THE WAY THEY DID. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...CUT UP YOUR AMEX CARDS AND IF YOU'RE A MERCHANT DON'T ACCEPT THEM.

An advisor blows the whistle on illegal practices at Ameriprise shortly after he's let go. The advisor sells his practice for 305K and the advisor pays him 30K and then when the next payment is due tells him to go pound sand.

http://www.amexsux.com/pdfs/advisor_sue_amp.pdf

Hello, I've posted to this forum before. My husband and I are waiting on an arbitration hearing scheduled for early next month and are hoping some of you can help us gather a bit of information about how Ameriprise handled the marketing of auction rate securities internally. Some here have posted that the selling of ARS was not allowed by Ameriprise but I haven't been able to reach those individuals to follow up on their information.

In Sept 2007, our Ameriprise advisor put all our cash in Nuveen Auction Rate Preferreds. In Feb 2008 the ARS market froze and remains frozen to this day. Our advisor stands behind the fact that we were 100% clear in communication to him that we wanted a safe and liquid place to park our cash short term. He also admits we were never given a prospectus about the investment.

Ameriprise's defense against our claim is that "there was no way they could have known" there was any risk or that the market was about to seize up. I have plenty of information to refute this argument but having a witness to internal communications on the issue could be very, very helpful to us.

Anyone out there that can help me??

Thank You,

Leah Manzari
leahmanzari@yahoo.com
